Joseph P. Galvan

Joseph P. Galvan brings extensive experience from his nearly 8 years as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Midwest Regional Administrator based in Chicago. In that role he was responsible for the oversight of HUD investments across that six-state region consisting of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. He also served as HUD’s liaison to elected officials, congressional delegations, associations and stakeholders. 

Prior to his second term at HUD, Joe was a Principal with Galvan & Associates advising housing authorities and cities on program performance, compliance and executive management issues.

Mr. Galvan has strong ties to the Midwest region and local governments. He recently completed a second term as the Chair of the Chicago Federal Executive Board and was the Chairman of the Midwest Interagency Council on Homelessness.

He has also served as a Community Development Director for several communities and worked on local boards including as Chairman of the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), West Cook Leaders for Fair Housing, the Preservation Housing Task Force and 18th Street Development Corporation.
