Subject Matter Expert
Stan Quy is a Subject Matter Expert contributor to Galvan and Associates. Stan has 48 years in the affordable housing and community development industry as a federal executive, faculty member, consultant and board member for many local, regional and national organizations. His consulting expertise includes human resources recruitment / management, strategic planning, business planning, organizational analysis, leadership training, and public relations.
Stan had a 36-year career with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that included key roles as a technician, manager and leader in all major federal programs administered by HUD. He served in many leadership capacities that included Director of the Nebraska / Iowa HUD Office and Acting Regional Director for the Kansas City HUD Regional Office. Under his leadership both offices were recognized for multiple years as being the top performing regional and state offices nationally. During his HUD career, he was awarded a U.S. House of Representatives Leadership Recognition Award and a Certificate of Excellence in Leadership Award by the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. In providing consulting and training services to affordable housing providers this last 12 years, he has assisted more than 200 agencies in 39 states and is also called on for many regional and national conference presentations. Stan has served on the faculty of both the University of Nebraska Graduate School of Public Administration and the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials.
Stan has a Master’s degree in Urban Planning, a Master’s degree in Leadership and a Doctorate in Business (ABD) with a specialization in nonprofit organizational management. He has taken many other specialization courses at six other universities, including two summer sessions at the Harvard University JFK School of Government.
